Choo-choo, all aboard! (Sorry, it was too easy).

For those who love watching those silver snakes weave their way across the landscape, Dovetail Games’ Train Sim World 2’s latest Railway might just be for you.

Boasting a name I can’t pronounce, Schnellfahrstrecke Köln – Aachen sees players speeding their way through concrete jungles and beautiful German countryside. 70km long and part of the Trans-European transport network, the track runs both ICE 3M high-speed services and busy local S-Bahn services.

Dovetail Games has sought to recreate the route in all its glory, including delving into its history, rendering its bridges and landmarks wonderfully, and introducing two feats of German engineering; the DB BR 406 ICE 3 high-speed train and its slower-speed cousin the DB BR 442 Talent 2 (nicknamed ‘Hamster Cheeks’ to its Rail fans).

And if you’re completely lost by everything that I’ve just said rail-wise, why not watch the trailer then Explore Schnellfahrstrecke Köln – Aachen in Train Sim World 2 yourself, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam soon.
