Choco/Mog, Weapon Enhancements and more…

Final Fantasy VII Remake is less than a hundred days away until we all get to experience the fresh take on Midgar and get to know some old friends and enemies a little better. However, until then, Square Enix has served us, the fans, a fresh scoop of chilled screenshots in a nice big bowl for us to gobble up!

These screenshots give us a closer look at the way materia, abilities and weapons work and how you can now upgrade your weapons as well as learn abilities from your weapons like how Zidane and co., did in Final Fantasy IX. You can also see from these screens that Choco/Mog makes a return, the summon you originally obtained shortly after leaving Midgar.

We get to see the outside and inside of Aerith’s house, both of which are beautiful and fill me and most likely other fans hearts with nostalgia. We also get a closer peek at a few of the side pieces of content like darts and the high-speed bike battles you’ll have on Midgars roads and train tracks. All of these can be viewed below in our gallery!

Finally, Director of Final Fantasy VII Remake, Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that development of Part 2 is underway.

“With regard to new characters, of whom I said during past interviews that there would be “none” – though they aren’t main characters, their numbers ended up growing considerably in the process of creating a rich depiction of Midgar. When you think of Midgar’s final boss, you probably think of the M.O.T.O.R., but in this game, new bosses will appear and add to the excitement of the story even more.” Tetsuya Nomura said, “We’ve already begun working on the next one as well, but I’m confident that playing through this title will expand your expectations just like the world that extends beyond Midgar.”

Final Fantasy VII Remake launches on PlayStation 4 on March 3rd 2020.
