Give it some stick!

There’s been a trend in recent years for reviving retro games and sticking them on a cutesy lookalike piece of hardware. Take the mini-SNES and Megadrive systems as good examples of this. Of course, there is always some controversy over what games are included on these consoles as everybody has an opinion on what is a classic game.

Well now Capcom is throwing their entry into the ring with the Capcom Home Arcade system, and it’s not cheap. At £200 it’s the same price as a standard gaming console from Sony or Microsoft and comes with 16 built-in games. To warrant some of the cost the system does include some top-of-the-range Sanwa components for the joysticks and button switches and wi-fi connectivity.

Designed using the famous Capcom logo and colours, the Home Arcade certainly is quite striking, and the games have been emulated to be as close to the original arcade experiences as possible. The 16 games included with the Capcom Home Arcade are:

  • 1944: The Loop Master
  • Alien vs Predator
  • Armored Warriors
  • Capcom Sports Club
  • Captain Commando
  • Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness
  • Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors
  • Eco Fighters
  • Final Fight
  • Ghouls ‘n Ghosts
  • Giga Wing
  • Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting
  • Mega Man: The Power Battle
  • Progear
  • Strider
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo

The Capcom Home Arcade will be available from all major gaming retailers from October 25, 2019, in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Middle East and Russia.
