What are you playing?

Each week we’ll give you the low-down on the games that have been keeping the GGS Gamer staff busy on their consoles, PCs and handhelds.

Here’s what we’ve been playing this week …

Jay

  • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix HD (PS4): Finally finished the Game but my wrist is giving me hell so I had to retire my save file until my wrist better.
  • Dragon Quest 11 (PS4): I thought I’d finish this and a turn based JRPG is easier on my wrist.

Dan

  • Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne (PS2): About 35 hours in, making sure I savor every minute. Finished up the Amala Network. A fiend, Trumpeteer, is currently stopping my progress as he’s the most tricky boss fight of the game, so enjoying a bit of level grinding.
  • Persona 3 Portable (PSP): On my way to wreck Nyx. I’m so high level that grinding in the final dungeon takes forever. Also missed my shot of fusioning Lucifer so yeah I’ll have to replay it again after.

John

  • The Witcher 3 (PS4): I’ve wasted most of my time with the Blood and Wine DLC just exploring and trying to remember what happened since I played the game last Christmas.
  • Metro 2033 (XB1): Finished Last Light and apparently was playing the games I. The wrong order, oops! It’ll be fine though…

Stewart

  • Battlefield 5: (XB1X): It’s been continuing to get a load of negative press, but I’m actually still enjoying it. Some bugs are being addressed, whilst more are appearing, but a few niggles aside it’s entertaining me. It’s the second stage of the war campaign this week, and I’m almost the owner of a new (Epic) cosmetic helmet.
  • Heroes of the Storm: (PC): With the sad news that HotS is being sidelined by Blizzard, I’m a little sad that my favourite MOBA is taking a backseat. Getting some games in whilst I have the chance.

Sarah

  • Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 (XB1): Managed to finish this, this week. Managed to get to the 14th day and kill the final boss. Despite a few frustrations with keeping track of quests and what times various NPCs spawn, I really enjoyed this. Sad to finish the trilogy though.
  • Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice (XB1): I can finally get to play this now that it’s free with Xbox Games Pass! Haven’t got very far into it yet but it’s looking good so far.
