AI innovations have revolutionized the way we do things today. Many industries have already jumped onto the AI bandwagon today. The market for AI is growing, and estimates suggest that by 2025 it will be about $31.5 billion. If you are into online gaming, like trying out the best caesars casino online casino bonus, you will know that AI is about everywhere today. It’s in the games you play, or probably even in the office, you work in.
Over the years, there has been tremendous progress and development in the industry. And the gaming industry has not been left behind. AI has continued to be used to unlock new possibilities even in old video games.
Earlier this year, a team of researchers led by Italian Edoardo Giacomello of the Politecnico di Milano created new levels for the game Doom. These new levels were created by identifying key level features in over 1000 official levels in Doom 1 and Doom 2. Additionally, there were 9,000 levels which have been created by the gaming community.
The new gaming levels were all designed using Artificial Intelligence. The application automatically generated new levels which were playable, and they were easy to design.
Dr Daniel Jiang who is an assistant professor of industrial engineering is one of the designers who develop these algorithms. According to him, the process of decision making can be quite difficult, but AI can help stimulate environments to experiment with new technologies successfully.
The Top Challenges that Lie Ahead
Sure, A.I more industries are using AI but it still has some problems to overcome. Researchers like Dr Jiang try and figure out the consequences and problems of A.I.
Video games, for instance, offer the right platform to test the consequences of decision making. They help provide an overview of “what would happen” in case AI is used in real life situations. So, while playing the game, if you opt for decision A instead of B, you can see the consequences of decision A. And while it’s a video game, you can apply the same principles in real-life situations and take the help of AI to determine likely outcomes.
Video Games and AI
Video games are built to mimic the real world. As a player, you would have to make split-second decisions at times so that you can win. And this is where A.I testing comes in handy.
According to Dr Jiang, for an algorithm to be successful in a video game, the AI must overcome several challenges. For instance, a game such as the League of Legends gives players a chance to take out their opponents. However, for you to win then, they will need a certain game strategy.
To win the game, a strategy such as the Monte Carlo tree will come in handy. Play by moving randomly. As you get to play the game using this strategy, you become more successful in League of Legends.
