It’s also out on PS4 and Steam.
Square Enix has announced the launch of Worlf of Final Fantasy Maxima – an enhanced version of World of Final Fantasy – on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam, and Switch.
World of Final Fantasy Maxima was originally announced back in September, along with other classic Final Fantasy titles coming to current gen consoles.
You can check out the trailer for World of Final Fantasy Maxima below, which showcases the cute, Kingdom Hearts-esque graphics and gives us a glimpse at a few of the Final Fantasy characters you’ll be able to play as, including Cloud, Lightning, Yuna, and you can even go fishing with Noctis!
World of Final Fantasy Maxima will include new features such as the Avatar Change System, which will allow players to transform Reynn and Lann and fight as Champions; that is, characters from Final Fantasy lore. As well as new monsters (or Mirages), additional content has been added in the form of side quests, boss battles, and mini-games. And the fun’s not over once you’ve beaten the game as you’ll be able to carry over your progress and start a new Nightmare difficulty mode.
The original game, World of Final Fantasy, was first released in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Vita, with a Steam release arriving a year later. The story follows Reynn and Lann, twins who must journey to an unfamiliar world to rediscover their lost memories.
World of Final Fantasy Maxima is out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam, and Switch.
