Square Enix has released The Quiet Man on PC and PS4; a unique cinematic gameplay experience where players take the role of a deaf protagonist.. and yes you, as the player, can’t hear anything as well.
The story takes place across a single night, where players as deaf protagonist Dane fight their way to discover the motives behind the kidnapping of songstress Lala by a mysterious masked man.
The game is the result of a collaboration between Human Head Studios (the studio behind Lost Within, Prey and Rune), action director Tatsuro Koike of the Yakuza fame, renowned comic book writer team Man of Action Entertainment (known for their work on BEN 10, Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man and BIG HERO 6) and Grammy award winning artist Imogen Heap who crafted the game’s theme aptly named The Quiet.
Furthermore, one week following release, a new patch will be available for players to download so they can replay the game with sound and voices. Additionally, the game support subtitles in 29 languages.
The game is available digital only on Steam and PSN for £11.99 / €14.99. Square Enix also has a special offer for those who pick up the game between now and November 15th. Players who pick up the game on PSN Store will also nab a PS4 dynamic theme and a set of 8 PSN avatars while PC players will obtain 7 desktop and mobile wallpapers. There’s also a 10% discount on both platforms until November 15.
