Team17 has announced their plans to bring Fireproof Games’ BAFTA award winning puzzle title The Room to the Nintendo Switch on October 18th. While the game is already available for PC and mobile (Android and iOS) devices, The Room has been rebuilt from the ground up for Nintendo’s highly popular console. The game will be available for $9.99/£6.99/€8.99.
The Room is a physical puzzler wrapped mixed with a mystery based game where players are transported into a unique space that blends stunning visuals with intriguing problems to solve. Players are then lead to a mysterious attic of an abandoned house where the room has a cast-iron safe laced with strange carvings and a note from your distant companion.
Like mentioned above, the game has been rebuilt from the ground up for the Nintendo Switch where the game will utilize both the touch screen and both Joy-Con controllers in order to solve the game’s various puzzles.
The Room has been the recipient with a handful of awards since it’s original release in 2012. It reached #1 in over 60 countries which lead the game to win iPad Game of the Year 2012 from Apple, the BAFTA for British Game and the GDC Award for Best Handheld/Mobile Game. The Room makes its official debut on consoles exclusively via the Nintendo Switch.
