The Monster Hunter series sees its debut on the Nintendo Switch as Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate releases today as either a digital download and physical copy.

The follow up to Monster Hunter Generations on the Nintendo 3DS, Ultimate sees you journey to defend each of the games four villages. You can go it alone or with friends via local wireless or online multiplayer, with up to three others.

Players can experiment and choose from six different Hunting Styles including two new ones called Valor Style, which rewards players with new moves for landing successive attacks, and Alchemy Style, a support style that grants the ability to create useful items on the fly during combat. Hunters are encouraged to explore and customize the experience between quests to find the most personalized playstyle.

A new quest difficulty has also been introduced called “G” rank, allowing more experienced players to really test their hunting skills – and if you did play the original Monster Hunter Generations on Nintendo 3DS, you’ll be able to transfer the save data across and continue your journey.

Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is out now on Nintendo Switch.
