Each week we’ll give you the low-down on the games that have been keeping the GGS Gamer staff busy on their consoles, PCs and handhelds.
Here’s what we’ve been playing this week …
Jay
- Dark Souls Remastered (PS4) – I never really got to give this a good go back when it initially released due to college and my need to go out and party with my college friends but now I lack a massive friends group due to everyone having children I decided I’d give it another go!
- Monster Hunter World (PS4) – Jumping back to nail a monster for a limited event for high level gear!
Dan
- Friday the 13th (XB1/PS4) – Because reasons. And it’s cathartic as f*ck.
- Far Cry 4 (PS4) – Was debating between this and replay Far Cry 5; enjoying it but not as much as FC5; the driving sucks.
Sarah H
- Elder Scrolls Online (PC) – Got inspired to play this game again recently and I’m really enjoying it this time around. I’ve found a location that was really easy for me to get lost in, so it’s refreshing to revisit Elder Scrolls lore.
- League of Legends (PC) – Finally sat down to do my ranked placements this weekend. I didn’t do great, but that just means I’ll have to spend some time climbing in the upcoming weeks. I’m definitely a little rusty (as month-long breaks will do that to you!), but I’m excited to get back into the swing of things.
John
- Oxenfree (XB1) – Somehow I hadn’t played Oxenfree until this weekend, picking it up in the Game Pass and it’s bloody brilliant – think of it as Stranger Things “Graduation†or something, with a similar vibe to Life is Strange except all of the characters aren’t annoying twats. If you haven’t played it, it’s well worth a go!
Viki
- Detroit: Become Human (PS4) – I’m in the midst of Detroit: Become Human and I’m actually very impressed so far! Graphically and thematically, it looks stunning, and it’s doing a wonderful job of implying a broken world rather than info-dumping it all on us, and Connor is adorable. Only downside is – I’ve played four hours and I’m about halfway through?!
Sarah
- Rise of the Tomb Raider (PS4) – Nearly finished with this. Disappointingly, I’m not enjoying it anywhere near as much as the last one.
- Bless Online (PC) – I’ve been waiting for this MMO for years! It launched yesterday (early access) so today, the servers are lagging and it’s almost unplayable – just like any other MMO launch. It’s very, very pretty though and I’m actually excited to see what this game will bring.
How about you?
