Niantic and the Pokemon Company have announced a new summer tour of Pokemon GO events taking place across the globe this summer. Three new events were announced, each one with its own location and theme.
- Pokémon GO Safari Zone Dortmund will be Germany on June 30 and July 1
- Pokémon GO Fest 2018: A Walk in the Park in Chicago is on July 14 and 15
- and Safari Zone is to be held in Yokosuka, Japan at a later date
“The Pokémon Go Summer Tour 2018 is set to bring Trainers together around the world for fun, exploration and adventure” said John Hanke, founder and CEO of Niantic, Inc. “After getting off to a bumpy start in Chicago last year, we hosted a number of record-setting events in Japan, Korea, and cities across Europe with attendance that ranged from tens of thousands to more than two million. We are excited to to be returning to Chicago for our US event. It will take place in Lincoln Park and will feature in-game activities in the park and throughout the city as well as connected gameplay events around the world.”
Last year’s Pokemon GO Fest in Chicago was nothing short of disastrous and left many fans feeling unsatisfied. This year’s Pokémon GO Fest 2018 will be a second chance for the AR game to bring real-life experiences to US audiences.
