Blizzard has announced a new melee support hero coming to their action MOBA Heroes of the Storm. Available soon to test on the PTR servers, Diablo character Deckard Cain will be joining the host of other famous Blizzard games characters in the Nexus, the home of Heroes of the Storm.
Those familiar with the Diablo games will instantly recognise Deckard Cain as the Horadrim scholar well versed in obscure lore and history of the arcane, who recounts the historical stories of Tristram and narrates portions of the in-game dialogue.
Deckard Cain will be joining the healing roster of Heroes as a melee support healer, where staying close to your teammates will improve your functionality. The spells are again instantly familiar due to the visuals and naming conventions. Deckard gets to throw out healing potions and use the Horadric Cube to slow and damage enemies. One of the funnier abilities is his heroic spell “Stay a while and listen” which lets Deckard tell a tale so boring that it sets the enemy to sleep for a short while.
Heroes of the Storm now has a rather large roster of playable characters and that only adds to the fun and diversity of the game. Let us hope that Deckard Cain can help to restore balance to the Nexus.
