Blizzard has announced Hearthstone’s new expansion, Kobolds and Catacombs, which will be released sometime in December.
Additionally, once Kobolds and Catacombs has gone live, players who log in will receive a random legendary weapon for free.
“Legendary adventures call for Legendary weapons! From mystical blades wreathed in eldritch energies to staves imbued with the wisdom of ancient ages, mighty magical weapons are the calling cards of great heroes. In that spirit, all nine classes can seek out their own Legendary weapons in Kobolds & Catacombs!”
Each class will have its own legendary weapon, with unique powers suited for that class. The mage weapon, Aluneth has been revealed; details of more legendary weapons will be revealed as we move closer to launch.
With the emphasis on exploring dungeons and finding loot, Kobolds and Catacombs will introduce a new (free) single-player mode. The “dungeon run” will pit a player against eight random bosses, with the penalty of having to start over if they lose.
Hearthstone: Kobolds and Catacombs is set for release in December.
