Square Enix has confirmed the inevitable: Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is officially coming to the West sometime next year.

The highly anticipated latest entry in the long running Dragon Quest franchise follows the adventure of a hero who must solve the mystery of his fate with the aid of a charming cast of supporting characters. The character art will be handled by famed manga artist Akira Toriyama and feature the memorable music of composer Koichi Sugiyama.

Speaking in a special video message to celebrate the announcement, the man behind the Dragon Quest series, Yuji Horii, introduces an overview of the game while offering an update on the games localization process.

Expect Square Enix to reveal additional details later this Fall. The game is expected to release for PS4, Nintendo Switch and 3DS.
