Ubisoft have announced the latest DLC for Tom Clancy’s The Division. The DLC, titled “Last Stand” is free for season pass players though it can be purchased as stand-alone DLC. The announcement also gave further details on what is in store for all players with the free 1.6 update.

The 1.6 update will open up the previously blocked off zones 7, 8, and 9 of the Dark Zone, a set of areas that Ubisoft have claimed will treat players to the “most eerie environments” the game has to offer. The new zones will host some the some of the most difficult NPC’s in the game – so make sure you’re levelled up, locked and loaded, and it’s probably best to have a friend with you before you go exploring!

The update will also treat players to a catalogue of new weapons, new contamination events that occur every hour in underground sections, and a new ‘Legendary’ difficulty for those players who just want to see their avatar die.

New areas of the Dark Zone will be opened up along with the introduction of a new game mode.

Whilst the latest free update will introduce a breadth of environment and content for players to explore, the newest expansion: ‘Last Stand’ seeks to push players to their limits within the Dark Zone. The new game mode will require eight players (broken into two teams of four) to battle against two AI teams of rogue agents and collect crucial supplies.

The game mode seems to resemble a Capture the Flag style match, as the team to retrieve the most information wins the session. Whilst the game mode may not be the most original – it does demonstrate the Dev team seeking to strike a balance between player vs computer and PvP content.

The ‘Last Stand’ expansion and the 1.6 update will be released on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC simultaneously although no specific date has been released so far.
