Hidden amongst the pile of games that were announced for the Nintendo Switch was an RPG currently in development over at Square Enix Towers.
With what I’m assuming is a working title of Project Octopath Traveler, the game is a retro-styled RPG that takes 16-bit sprites and gives them a splash of depth.
Current information at the moment is that it’s being worked on by the dev team at Square Enix that made Bravely Default, and the style certainly appears to match.
In the trailer, we see traditional turn-based combat and a smattering of town and dungeon exploration. Details are rather sparse, but hopefully we’ll see more of this interesting-looking game soon!
