Last week, Io Interactive and Square Enix released a new trailer for Hitman titled Legacy which takes players through various scenes from every Hitman game released to date.
This time, Creative Director Christian Elverdam explains why they choose the targets in the trailer:
Target #1 2000, Hitman: Codename 47
We loved the idea of re-imagining Agent 47s hit on the Red Dragon Negotiator in Hong Kong. And we could draw on the iconic sniper pose from Blood Money, hence the Casino reference.
Target #2 2002, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
47 has always used poison and disguises to great effect, and using the lethal puffer fish on Hayamoto Jr.’s sushi is about as classic as you can get.
Target #3 2004, Hitman: Contracts (and Codename 47)
The thermal baths have a serene beauty and the mission is a true franchise classic. In the trailer we felt we could picture an accidental kill in a very pure form.
Target #4 2006, Hitman: Blood Money
The fiber wire has always been a signature weapon of Agent 47 and the Don playing the cello has a truly poetic touch to it. Looking for a classic fiber wire kill, this one was the ideal choice for us.
Target #5 2012, Hitman Absolution
As Agent 47 you often feel like a voyeur and the kill on Dom Osmond through the mirror captures this perfectly. With the trailer we could also create a wonderful subtext for the scene with 47 surprisingly killing himself.
