Originally scheduled for release on September 15, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be releasing on September 1 on PC. This is to bring it into line with the release of the game on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3.
“We initially did not think it would be possible to get such an epic game out onto PC in time for launch alongside its console counterparts, but all involved have worked diligently to meet the demands of our PC consumers”, commented the President of Konami, Tomotada Tashiro. He added, “Now… we feel confident that Steam users will be satisfied with the contents we provide for the Steam version”.
Note that, as a result of the updated timing, Metal Gear Solid: Online will be releasing later. Console versions will go live on October 6 and the PC version is set to release in January 2016. Metal Gear Solid: Online will be bringing squad based, multiplayer combat to The Phantom Pain.
Information about PC specs have been released on the game’s Steam forum.
