Crime beware! A new dynamic duo is in town and they’re planning pack a punch!

News from the spinning newspapers hurtling toward our faces reads Bulgarian indie twosome Ivent Games has partnered up with indie worm lovers (or haters, depending on how you look at it) Team17 to fight crime release a new 3D brawler titled Strength of the SWORD: ULTIMATE!

Putting on his best Batman voice, Ivent Games’ Director/Artist extrordinaire Lyubomir lliev issued this statement for bad guys fans everywhere:

“Wow, have we got crazy lucky! We were recently approached by Team17, who seemed quite excited about what they had heard and seen, and offered to help in any way they can… And so…we are extremely excited to announce that we are partnering up with the awesome guys and girls at Team17 in an epic effort to bring “Strength of the SWORD: ULTIMATE” to everybody we possibly can! Woohooo!”

For the purpose of this extremely serious article we’ll pretend he didn’t ‘woohoo’ at the end.

Debbie Bestwick, the Managing Director of Team17, was equally excited (and perhaps a little giddy), adding:

“Recently someone told me if Carlsberg could create a Publisher it would be Team17’s Indie Label. If Carlsberg could create games creators, Ivent would be on that list. We are very proud to welcome them into our family of Indie studios from around the world. So far we have announced around a dozen partners all with the same vision and focus to become sustainable studios with successful self-owned IP. Together we are building something the games Industry has needed for decades. A Label that puts the creators first and helps them build long term”.

Coming to PC (and other platforms, TBC) soon, shine a Steam shaped spotlight into the air and you might just find Strength of the SWORD: ULTIMATE coming to your rescue. A fighter/brawler with attitude problems, you play as a War Golem who finds himself (Herself? Itself?) magically powered and ready to kick ass against huge bosses and numerous evil enemies. Featuring two modes, Story and Survival, both will utilise every ounce of a players crime-fighting monster bashing skills in a game that’s boldly proclaimed itself as the kind of game you BEAT instead of finish.

To back the project head over to their Kickstarter campaign page here. There’ll be more updates on the way, but until then check out this awesome looking screenshot while you wrestle with your spandex pants.

We only hope the final game features KAPOW, BOOM and WHACK speech bubbles.
