Pedal to the metal.
Hoplon has announced Metal Pass Season Two “Into the Abyss” for Heavy Metal Machines, their free-to-play, car-combat MOBA, and it’s available now.
“Into the Abyss” is inspired by H.P. Lovecraft and introduces the Stargazer, a vehicle with weapons such as the Orbital Beam, Life Support System, Warp, and Entangle. The new vehicle will be able to attach other vehicles and the teleport options will help create new strategies as a support character. The Stargazer is piloted by Jada Jemison, a character inspired by the first African-American astronaut, Mae Carol Jemison. You can check out the full patch notes here.
The Metal Pass was first introduced in September and offers players a progression system to unlock cosmetic rewards via weekly missions and challenges. The cosmetic items on offer in season two take on the form of abyssal creatures, ocean animals, and water sports, inspired by the Cthulhu mythos.

“Although Heavy Metal Machines only left closed beta in September, it is important to us that the game remains fresh and we introduce new mechanics and strategies for our loyal community” said Eros Carvalho, Head of Studio and Development for Hoplon. “We’re constantly looking for feedback from both our new and veteran players on what we can introduce to improve the game.”
Heavy Metal Machines is free-to-play and is out now on PC.
